About Crazy

Crazy - Tho Loveable Lunatic

Edwin Ayoung AKA CRAZY, a calypsonian from Trinidad & Tobago, is one of the top performers of Calypso & Soca music.

He started his professional career in 1972 in the calypso tent "The Original Brigade" and grabbed his audience with a double-entendre The Electrician.

1978 was a successful season with Dustbin Cover and the debut on the stage of National Calypso Monarch where he now is a veteran of this competition.

This year Crazy was the first artist to sing a mix of Parang and Soca with the song Parang Soca which also gave the name to this style.

He has several hits through the years as 1980 top single Don't Try That, second place Road March in 1982 with Uncle Crazy. In 1985 he won the Road March title with Suck Meh Soucouyant and was one of the pioneers of Chutney Soca with Nani Wine in 1989.

Other hits: Soca Tarzan (1984), Drive It (1988), Gimme More (1990), De Party Now Start and Penelope (1992), Paul Yer Mudder Come (1993), Dis Is How (1994), Cash It (2003) and the 2007 Carnival Season biggest hits Cold Sweat!

Based in Trinidad and California Crazy frequently performs across the Caribbean and the US and in several European countries as Sweden, Germany, France, Austria, England and Italy.

A performance of Crazy is a wild, happy and crazy experience and ranges from social commentary calypso to wild party soca.
